The Driving Training Centre
A complete digital operation for a working driving school—joining acquisition, staff CRM, instructor delivery, learner progress, theory training, payments and compliance.
The next lesson starts with the last one.
Good software remembers what matters. Teaching progress, lesson history and prepaid hours belong to the same learner record.
Try it: record the example lesson and see the connected changes. The simplified study uses invented teaching data, not a real learner record. Simplified model. No client data. No production actions. The Driving Training Centre

The problem behind the brief
The business was not simply selling lessons. Every enquiry had to be qualified, matched to instructor capacity, scheduled, taught, recorded, paid for and progressed towards a test. Office staff, instructors, learners and managers each needed a different view of the same live operation.
We designed the public website and the operational platform as one connected service. Local acquisition flows into the staff CRM; instructors manage diaries, pupils, notes, progress and finance; learners see lessons, payments, goals and theory readiness; Test Swap, communications and compliance remain part of the same product ecosystem.
The design decision
The website is the start of the service, not the end of the project.
For The Driving Training Centre, the public enquiry journey and the operational platform were developed together. The important hand-off is from an interested learner to the office, then to an assigned instructor and an ongoing teaching record. Treating those as one service keeps the design grounded in what happens after someone presses Send.
The trade-off to examine
A standalone enquiry form is simpler to build than a connected operation. The harder requirement is continuity: allocation must identify the right instructor, and teaching progress and paid lesson hours must remain attached to the right learner. The project is best evaluated across those hand-offs, rather than by counting screens.
Follow a lesson through the example above: teaching progress and remaining lesson hours belong to the same learner. The public capture shows the real website; the interactive model explains the workflow without exposing learner information.

Under the surface
One learner journey, five very different points of view.
The visible website is the front door to a much larger service. The real design work is in keeping demand, capacity, teaching, progress, money and compliance connected without giving every user the same interface.

Each hand-off has a next step.
- 01Enquiry
A local search or referral becomes a structured lead, not an inbox dead end.
- 02Allocation
The office matches location, availability and learner need to real instructor capacity.
- 03Delivery
Lessons, reminders, notes and syllabus progress stay attached to the learner record.
- 04Readiness
Practical progress, theory preparation and test activity provide a joined-up view.
- 05Money
Balances, invoices, payouts and instructor finance follow the work already completed.
- 06Oversight
Managers see exceptions, capacity, service quality and compliance without reconstructing the story.
What we built
A production platform that supports the complete learner lifecycle and the people delivering it—replacing fragmented admin with role-specific tools built around how the school actually works.
The instructor’s progress record checks that the learner is assigned to them. Teaching records, syllabus progress and prepaid lesson blocks are brought together in the same working view.
